Generalist – Opening Post

Generalist

Generalist is someone with wide array of knowledge. Breadth over depth. The first time I encountered “Generalist” term was in Gabriel Weinberg’s Medium article on mental models. I immediately internalized and resonated with it.

I enjoy diving into new fields and summon up the bits worth taking on board.  This blog is a first step to unlock my experiences, observations which I believe will be beneficial to a wider audience. At least some of it. And a serious commitment to myself.

Now

8 tabs are open at the moment. Came back home pretty late this warm Monday evening. Nonetheless I could not skip casual flow of information, hence this is typical until I catch up.

Daaamn, you know… This is scary. Staying authentic to the initial idea, first words to pop filling the sentence in mind and resisting to over edit so every letter would fulfill multiple layers of satisfaction. Wider audience, targeted audience, SEO, my inner voice, other own personalities to name a few.

Layers of reasons

If only I knew all the letters I had to type to introduce what this personal blog is all about I would’t need to postpone my productivity of tomorrow to the day after tomorrow, when I might get more sleep. The idea behind layer in the paragraph’s heading was that every issue was multiple angles to view from. I might add some dictionary in upcoming weeks.. Again. Drifting away. Well. We will never reach a core of an onion, I can tell you that right now. It’s a running target and if we keep to this numeration, we will bounce up against decreasing exponential sequence where 0, or the core of what is this all about is some kind of unreachable ideal.

Who’s behind the wheels?

Knowing what I am about publicize, I had this question around half year ago. Legal issues, to be more specific. Having some idea of what hackers, algorithms or just a casual generalist is able to do with set of data I am well aware everything I am about to publicize is easily linked to real life identity. If anything goes to crapper I will be happy to stand by my morals and what I believe to be true. But for most of you guys I’m Generalist and I will be running this Lab till the wheels fall off.
